>I hear crickets

>It’s a little quite in here right now because my dear Little Bear and I have both been diagnosed with Broncitis! Little Bear also has an ear infection. She was prescribed anitbiotics, cough syrup and a nebulizer today. I am a concerned Mommy right now and just the thought of my three year old on a nebulizer scares me. (I was on them a lot when I was little due to being an asthmatic so I am familiar with them)  I know it will help her but just the thought of her being so young and on one already, well, it breaks my heart. The Poppa Bear took her into the doctor’s for me this morning as he was off and I had work. And so when I get home tonight we will administer her first treatment together. I hope she handles it well (and us too!). If you have any experience thoughts or advice that will help me feel better about this, please share.

Also, it looks like I have it now too. Im hoping the Doctor does not call me back because that means he called in my Zpack and I’ll have a prescription to pick up after work today. Thank goodness because I’m just getting worse and need to function. I’ve had enough and these OTC meds aren’t cutting it now.

Please bear with me if my posts are not as normal right now..that’s why….but i’m here…just trying to get better and get my Little well also.

>It was bound to happen

>Before we get into the nitty gritty, I want to show you the map of the weather forecast we had yesterday into today…

Pretty crazy, right? HAHAHA! (I so loved this and just had to share – and why it got tossed around on Facebook yesterday versus the weekend is beyond me. Still, it’s rather hilarious!)

Tis the season for the sickies. As you all know, the Poppa Bear has been down for the count for the last few days. I finally convinced him to see the doctor as I was afraid it was walking phenomonia (spelling?). Turns out, I was almost right. LOL! The Dr said because he did not have a fever or a constant one all day that he did not have the walking phenomonia but broncitis. That’s not to say he couldn’t get it just that it’s a good thing he came in when he did. He was given an antibiotic, an inhaler and instructions to rest.

Of course he went into work shortly after his appointment. He’s not the type of guy that can sit and rest if he can help it. I told him I understood but if he has to go in to please take it down a few notches. We don’t want to end up having to admit him into the hospital later on. Well, he woke up this morning already feeling better..imagine that. However, not before giving it to both Little Bear and I.

That’s right folks, i’m officially under the weather now myself. I woke up yesterday morning with an uncomfortable cough. You know the kind, sore but not really. scratchy but not really..just uncomfortable. As the day progressed the throat was getting worse and I could feel my body shutting down. Come 2pm it was really starting to wear me down. I’m a Momma though and nothing stops for us so I kept pushing through, fighting it to get the daily responsibilities done…dinner (The lazy kind because I was feeling SICK), Photobucket dinner clean up, tend to the Little Bear, evening baths and showers. I was fading and fading fast! I can’t tell you how many times I just stopped what I was doing and just laid on the floor. HA!

Poppa bear was kind enough to run to the local CVS for me to grab some tissues, something for my throat (that I forgot to take a picture of), those cool shower tablets for when you’re sick (I really like them). When he went to the store, I managed to gather up the evening necessities Photobucket  because at 6:30, I was getting a hot shower and getting into my jammies. That there neutralizer above I will post about later but I basically I put it in a basin of warm water and soak my feet for thirty minutes. It helps release any toxins my body carries. It’s good stuff and i’ve been using it for six years!

What’s even worse is now the Little Bear has it too. She started coughing on Sunday and last night she was saying her throat hurt and had a hard time sleeping. This morning, she did not want her Mommy to go to work and even brought out the water works. Talk about making me feel bad. =(  My heart was broken but I had to come to work. Le Sigh…..I just hope she doesnt get any worse and I can nip that in the bud fairly quickly. This thing that Poppa Bear is passing around the house is awful and just too awful for a three year old to have.

Needless to say folks, my cross-trainng day on the workout schedule did not happen last night and I’m okay with that. I wanted to rest up because today’s supposed to be a minute increase in my 5k run training program and I dont want to miss it. I am hoping for the best and going to try to do it tonight anyway – despite being sick. Even if I have to run slooowwww im doing it. Im three weeks and am not going to be derailed now and have to start over. I just really dislike when that happens. Here’s hoping today will be a good day, so far i’m feeling like poop!

>Hot, Sweaty, Stinky Mess

>Whew!! I just had thee most awesome, fabulous, hot, sweaty workout ever!!! I don’t know why but for some reason my Week 3, Workout 1 of my Girls Gotta Move 5k training program was killer!! I was a hot, sweaty, stinky mess!! (and loved every minute of it). I even ran at a 5.4 pace. Granted, it’s not the 6.0 that I am used to from months ago but it’s not bad. I mean, im going for distance right now, not speed so….

Well, since we got the fitness portion out of the way, may as well conduct the eats of today. Now, I may not do this daily anymore folks. Tina was talking about this last week and I completely agree. I menu plan, as most of you know, which helps me keep to the family’s grocery budget we set each week. By doing this, it saves us from spending frivelously. It also helps take the stress out of “what’s for dinner” as well as other things. This also means eatting the same thing for Breakfast (M1), Mid-Morning Snack (M2), Lunch (M3) and Mid-Afternoon Snack (M4) with each Dinner (M5) being different daily. There really is no reason to bore you all with tears with the same day-in/day-out meals Mon-Fri. I’ll post them once in awhile (probably just on Monday’s) but that’s about it. (Tho I must say im contemplating at least writing them down on the non-photo days for accountability so I dont fall off the wagon)….anyway, that’s what i’ve been thinking so dont be surprised if I don’t post it…it’s not because of being lazy, it’s because it’s just the same thing as the day before and the day before that. HA! 

Here’s what went into my belly today

M1:  1 egg, 2 egg whites, 1T shredded cheddar cheese, 1/2C Quick Oats, 2T Chia Seeds, 1T Ground Cinnamon, 2C regular coffee, 2T Great Value Chocolate Raspberry Coffee Creamer, 1 Small Banana == and yes, that’s a Christmas dessert plate. Someone forgot to pack those away with the rest of the holiday decor. oopsie!

M2: Oiko’s Carmel Yogurt (it’s like a dessert! i love this stuff!), 1/2 red grapefruit

M3: Fit & Active Chipotle Black Bean Soup, 1 Green Pepper, 2T Light Ranch Dressing, 1 small orange, vitamin

Yes, I bought all three new flavors. No, I have not tried them all yet. I just tried the Mint Chocolate Chip so far (bc i have a bit of an obsession with MCC ice cream) and OH.MY.GOSH! Tastes just like it. So good!!! Seriously, if you are watching calories and want something sweet just grab a stick of this stuff. It will rock.your.face! Im going to test drive the Strawberry Shortcake tomorrow and the Key Lime on Wednesday. I’ll let ya know how they go but i’m sure that they will be equally as enjoying as the mint chocolate chip.

When I came home from work today, I found Little Bear rushing around her kitchen area, quickly putting something in her oven (to hide from Mommy). Man, if I could have caught the look and body movements/form that she was doing when I walked in the door. And as Im walking in she goes “hurry, Mommy’s coming in” and then “the look”. I couldnt capture it but I did manage to capture this…

“I didnt do it. I don’t know what you’re talking about” pretty much sums up this picture. Silly girl! But I’ll tell you what, it sure felt great coming in the door from work and within seconds had this little ray of sunshine quickly engulf and surround me with such light and love. I am truly a blessed woman.

>Howdy Folks!

Did ya’ll have a great weekend? I sure hope so.  Our’s was pretty uneventful or at least that’s what I like to believe.

Saturday was the nonstop cleaning, laundry, errands day. I try to squeeze in everything I can on Saturday’s (despite my guilt for not spending quality time with the Little Bear on a day off) so that on Sunday’s there is nothing that needs to be done on Sunday except play with and spend time with my darling daughter.  Besides taking her to the stores with me on Saturday, she really didnt see much of me except helping me fold laundry and clean house. And really, what child likes doing that? Okay, well, mine does as im sure most children that are the age of three. But you know what I mean…Anyway, she didnt not mind tho. In her eyes, she was spending time with me. In my eyes, I wasnt giving her enough time but Sunday was coming and coming fast.

First things first, on Sunday’s it is Changing Sheets day so a lot of this was going on…

Once all the sheets were removed and the washer started on them, I immediately went downstairs to throw in a Lazy Sunday Crock Pot Dinner that the Little Bear helped me to prepare…Egg Casserole (12 eggs, 1C milk, 1 green pepper, 2C diced ham, 2C shredded cheddar cheese, 1/2 bag of Tater Tots and salt and pepper to taste – Cook on low for 8-10 hours)

Mmmm..doesn’t that look good? Oh how it emulated the house with such an aroma. My mouth was watering..in the end it tasted so good! I think it also tasted especially good because I did not have to slave to cook it or clean up! I mean, wouldn’t that make it taste better to any cook?

Since the Sunday mandatory tasks were completed the only thing left to worry about were, well, nothing. (Because I already packed our lunches for the week, laid out our clothes for tomorrow Photobucket and well, the only thing left was bath time and that was not til hours later).  As with every Sunday, the Little was given her weekly mani/pedi (I somehow managed to forget to snap a pic of this).  Other than that, she really was not up for much playing (I think she’s coming down with whatever the Poppa Bear has…more on that later). She instead did a lot more of this (making me regret not playing with her when she had the energy the day before)…

Well, Shesh. If that’s how the day was going to go I wasn’t about waste it. I try to make Sunday’s a grooming/spa day for me anyway. Sometimes I can fit it all in and sometimes i’m lucky to just get my manicure in. Yesterday, however, I was able to squeeze it all in — and boy, did it feel GREAT!!!!

First, I started off my Sunday the way I start off every Sunday — with my weekly treats!

This stuff tastes great (and also was cheaper than what it says because I get it at Aldi’s for only $0.78) and gives me the energy I need to tackle the day. Consequently, my bladder is very sensitve to the stuff so this Momma had to get up and pee, like no lie, every 10 minutes. Only thing I hate about it…because, after all, the potty is upstairs. Blah! 

And then this treat mid-day …

I found this beauty of a gem two weeks ago at Walmart. Chocolate and peanut butter?! Oh, my word!! I am already a fan of the Whatchamacallit but when I saw this “Thingamajig” well, it was love at first site! I’ve since kicked Whachamacallit to the waste side and replaced it with said Thingamajig.” What a lovely slice of heaven – if I do say so myself.  Of course I enjoyed this savoring treat during my spa treatment time (which commensed after I put the Little Bear down for her nap)..

I decided to do the mani/pedi first before the facial. My feet needed some pampering because, well, I have good ol’ runners feet..yuck! Yup, I have an ingrown toenail right now…

Yeah, that’s from running and well, to be honest, i cut the suckers too low which happens when my nails and skin are so dry. My fault and it’s been this way for almost two months now. =( It does appear we are getting somewhere now tho….I hate ingrowns and hang nails. If you’ve had experience with them and have any pointers, please share as I have to admit, this is my first one.

In the end, my feet went from drab to fab!!!

Much better, no?  And while the piggies were waiting to dry, I did my manicure too!! Yes, I know the toes and feet are supposed to match but I don’t care..

I’m now wishing I went for a bolder, more cheery color. The nude color looked and sounded good at the time now, not so much. Le Sigh….You know I wont redo them until next week. I just dont have the time.

With all this spa treatment labor I was getting hungry. It was time for a snack. I went for something that I saw at Aldi’s on Saturday that rocks my socks off.

I must admit that I was hesitant to purchase these. I thought that they would be a “gateway” food for me and I’d dive into the whole box in one sitting. Not the case! These were just perfect for a little indulgence without breaking the bank on the ol calories meter.

I caught upon the Jersey Shore (my gulity pleasure..and since I had no Grey’s or Private Practice to catch up on – that I usually do every Sunday…) and did some light reading while waiting for the nails to dry…

And then decided I finally had time to dye my hair (that was three months past due!)..

Ahhh, I feel human again!!! =)

That about sums up my Sunday. Oh, well, aside from doing some last minute bleaching in the house to cap up the night. The Poppa Bear has fallen ill last Wednesday and has gotten worse. All weekend he was very sore and achy. Classic symptoms of the flu however he was feeling better but his chest has sounded awful and he’s letting out some green flem. To top it off, Little Bear started the cough last night. Not a good sign folks? So, out came the purple cleaning gloves, the bucket, the bleach and the Lysol one more time.

I have to call the Doctor today to see if I can squeeze the Poppa Bear in. He needs some sort of medication because it sounds to me that he has walking phenomeia (spelling?) and that’s not good.  Here’s hoping it’s not that and just a bad case of something that can be fixed with an antibiotic.

Hello from a Winter Wonderland!

Check out that sky above, crazy isn’t it? That was on my way in this morning..around 8ish.

Yeah, we got a total (at least I measured at my house) of 14 inches last night. Holy Snow Batman!!! And of course, I had to come into work. Le Sigh…. Hey, at least they gave us a two hour delay in arriving – which worked out nicely because we had to shovel our cars out of our rather long driveway.  Poppa Bear started at 5:00am because he had to leave for work by 6:15 (Not ending up leaving until 6:45). I went back out at 6:45 and finished up at 7:45. Then, I had to get up the Little Bear and get her ready to drop her off at my Dad’s for the day. I made it into work by 8:40. We had up until 10. My boss and three out of us five in the department did not come in today. I’m upset. I rather have taken a snow day myself so I could enjoy it with Little Bear. Ah well, i’ve got tonight. At least the shoveling this morning counts for some weight training today, right? hee-hee!!!

Oh, and did I mention that because of all the commotion this morning I almost forgot to eat my egg brekkie sandwich?! Good thing I had natty peanut butter and bananas handy..I quickly made this to eat on-the-ride-into-work.. (Yeah, I stole the pic from a previous post..ah well, such is life.)

The above brekkie sandwich also was used with the last two slices of my P28 bread loaf. I am completely devastated. =( I HAVE.TO.GET.MORE! MUST.GET.MORE. Did I say how sad I am now that i’m out? No, well, I am. You could be a doll and send some my way..quick. I’d love you…like, forever! Just sayin…

Poppa Bear is on this ‘steal-the-laptop-at-night” kick and I haven’t been able to blog the last two nights.  Ugh!!!! So, here I am, updating you now on the what’s been happening….

It was a  5k training  day last night. Last night was a Week 2, Workout 2 workout. One more and that completes Week 2’s training. I’m doing really well with it too. Saturday’s calling for a five minute increase. It will be interesting to see how I do then. At least i’m progressing along.

My eats were absolutely horrible yesterday and I didnt keep track so nothing to post. I consider it a wash-out..between it snowing (and me always wanting to eat junk when it snows bad) and my Monthly visiting four days early (ugh!)..it was a bad day for nutrition yesterday.  Ah well, today is fresh….a new day…

Yeah, speaking of Monthly’s…darn thing came four days early on the day I had my annual visit to the ol OB/GYN. This is the second time this has happened to me. Me no likey! I rescheduled for the 8th of next month tho. yayaya!! Plenty of time before the next one. Let’s see it mess this appointment up. HA! Take that!

Alright ya’ll, i’m at work so I may as well do some (instead of daydreaming and wishing I was with Little Bear at home….or you know, instead of blogging too. ha). Ya’ll have a good day….but before you go…Did you get any snow last night? If so, how much?  What is one of your favorite past times when you take a snow day?
